The New York Mets are one of the hottest teams in Major League Baseball to start July.
They have won six straight games and are looking to win their third consecutive series.
One reason for their recent surge is due to the play of Francisco Lindor.
He is on a tear of late and carrying the Mets’ offense.
Lindor’s recent two-game span has been otherworldly.
According to OptaSTATS, Lindor is the only MLB player in the modern era to have 8+ hits, multiple triples, multiple homers, and multiple steals in a 2-game span.

Lindor is playing at an elite level since the beginning of July.
In six games this month he is hitting .417 with three home runs and six RBI.
The Mets have put themselves into a huge hole in the NL East standings after a slow start.
But, they are looking to get back into the Wild Card race before it is too late.
Unfortunately, the All-Star break begins on Monday and the Mets will get four days off from games.
The only Met player headed to the All-Star Game is Pete Alonso.
So the rest of the team will take the time off to recover and get ready for a second-half push.
If Lindor can keep hitting at this level the Mets have a chance to get back into the playoff race.
He is one of the most talented shortstops in baseball and someone that can carry a team for a month.
The Mets will be a team to keep an eye on once we enter the second half of the season.
