On Thursday night, New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor had a game to remember.
The veteran shortstop went 5-for-5 with a home run, two singles, and two triples.
He also joined Willie Mays in some elite company as the first player since 1958 to have gone 5-for-5 or better with two or more triples, a home run, and three or more runs scored in a single game.
Even more impressive was the fact that it was coming after a night where Lindor was dealing with food poisoning.
On Twitter, Bob Nightengale responded to a tweet featuring his numbers, commenting on the fact that Lindor had been ill the night before.

Lindor certainly had a night to remember against the Arizona Diamondbacks as he led the way for the Mets in their 9-0 blowout victory.
But the fact that he was able to bounce back from food poisoning and put together a performance like this is quite remarkable.
The four-time All-Star hasn’t quite been the same since joining the Mets after several years with the Cleveland Indians.
The star shortstop is hitting just .233, but his power numbers are quite good as he bumped his home run total up to 18 on the year.
Lindor has also driven in 57 runs, is reaching base at a .316 clip, and slugging .472 on the season.
He has even posted a 3.2 WAR.
Lindor led the way for the Mets as they secured their fifth straight win and moved to within five games of the .500 mark.
New York remains just 6.5 games back of the third Wild Card spot in the National League.
