The defending World Series champion Houston Astros picked up an important win on Tuesday night over the Los Angeles Angels to even their three-game series.
The Astros defeated the Angels by a final score of 3-1.
Leading the way was their ace in left-hander Framber Valdez.
The left-hander dominated the Angels and helped the Astros get back to .500, barely out-dueling two-way star Shohei Ohtani.
But Valdez’s numbers from Tuesday’s game were quite impressive.
The left-hander went eight innings against the powerful Halos lineup and held them to just one run.
Only three hits were allowed as Valdez struck out 12 batters and did not allow a walk.
On Twitter, MLB posted his must-see numbers from Tuesday night’s victory.

Valdez earned his third win of the season and lowered his ERA to 2.38.
The only run he allowed was on a home run by Zach Neto in the bottom of the third.
From there, Valdez was lights out and played the role of stopper for the Astros when they were in need of a win.
Double-digit strikeouts certainly helped him along the way as he worked around two Astros errors to keep the Angels in check.
After Valdez was done, Ryan Pressley pitched a scoreless ninth inning to secure the win, while ALCS and World Series MVP Jeremy Pena made an impressive diving catch to rob Hunter Renfroe of a hit for the final out.
But Valdez led the way for Houston and came through for the team when he was needed the most.
