It’s been almost two weeks since the Arizona Cardinals sent shockwaves around the NFL by releasing five-time All-Pro wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins and he still hasn’t found a new home in the league.
Hopkins going unsigned for this long is surprising, to say the least, as he could elevate a franchise to a potential Super Bowl title contender or drastically improve their chances of winning it all.
Despite that seemingly being the case, Hopkins remains without a team and has set up visits with the Tennesee Titans and New England Patriots, two teams arguably headed in the wrong direction.
Although Hopkins has received a fair amount of criticism over the past couple of weeks, former Houston Texans teammate Tyrann Mathieu believes his friend is still an elite player in the NFL and will be highly motivated once he signs with a team via The Jim Rome Show.

As one of the most talented receivers in the NFL, with potentially a few more years as an elite player left in him at 30 years old, it will likely be only a matter of time before Hopkins finds a new team and puts on a show during the 2023 campaign.
Interestingly enough, the two teams that tried to trade for Hopkins haven’t shown genuine interest since his release, with the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs being quiet on that front.
Only time will tell what will happen with this situation and where Hopkins ultimately lands, but it seems that whatever team signs him will get a motivated superstar ready to go to work.
