The Dallas Cowboys have always had Dak Prescott’s back.
Even when they were negotiating a new deal, and some questioned Jerry Jones’ commitment to him, they always had nothing but praise for him.
But now that Jones decided to trade for Trey Lance, some people around the league feel like his job may not be safe after all.
That includes former New York Giants star Victor Cruz, who took to The Carton Show to state that Prescott should be quite worried about Lance’s arrival.
Cruz believes the Cowboys are sending him a clear message and predicted that Lance could be a legitimate threat to take his starting spot if he doesn’t perform up to the level of their aspirations.
Does Trey Lance have a long-term future in Dallas?@TeamVic: I think Dak's in trouble. I think they brought Trey in to light a fire under Dak.@craigcartonlive: We don't know what Jerry Jones said to him. There's a good chance Jerry told Trey, 'You'll get a chance. Be patient.' pic.twitter.com/ELYyJ6WriS

Multiple teammates have shown their support for Prescott amid these complicated couple of years.
But when you’ve been struggling recently, it’s only natural to think that your team is going to find you a replacement.
Lance may not be ready to take the reins of the team now — maybe ever.
But the sole fact that Jones went out of his way to get him makes you wonder whether the team is trying to lay the groundwork to find a new long-term solution at the quarterback position.
Prescott entered the season under a lot of pressure, and that target on his back just became even wider.
The Cowboys have almost everything going their way to make a deep postseason run this season, and anything short of that will most likely fall on Prescott’s shoulders.
