The Cleveland Browns took a flier on Shedeur Sanders.
He clearly wasn’t the first-round pick his camp claimed he was, but no one expected him to slip all the way to the fifth round, either.
Sanders has shown some signs of progress throughout the course of training camp.
He didn’t get an equal chance to get first-team reps, but looked efficient in his preseason debut.
That wasn’t the case in his second time out there.
As pointed out by former NFL scout Daniel Kelly, Sanders’ tendency to hold onto the football continues to be a major issue, and that was on full display again on Saturday.

Sanders wasn’t out there for long, yet he took five sacks for a loss of 41 yards.
There were multiple instances in which he could’ve and should’ve simply thrown the ball out of bounds.
Instead, he kept onto the ball for long, ran in circles, and tried to make something out of nothing.
That has been an issue for him since his days at Jackson State.
Granted, he hasn’t always played behind the best offensive lines, but most of his sacks are on him.
Of course, no one expects a rookie to be a finished product, and he’s not the only flawed prospect in the game.
Then again, that also shows that he’s nowhere near as ready as his fans believe he is.
Sanders can be a good quarterback, but he needs to keep working on his game before he gets his chance.
