When the Toronto Raptors recently fired head coach Nick Nurse, everyone knew he wouldn’t be unemployed for long.
He achieved great things with the Raptors, even leading the team to a Finals victory.
Just a few weeks after being let go, he already has a promising job prospect.
NBA writer Keith Pompey reported that Nurse is set to meet with the ownership of the Philadelphia 76ers this week.
Nurse possibly coming to Philadelphia is an indication of what the organization has planned for the team.
Former Toronto Raptors coach Nick Nurse is meeting with Sixers ownership and management this week coming up in regards to the vacant head-coaching position, according to league sources.

During his time with the Raptors, Nurse earned three Eastern Conference Coach of the Month awards and was also named the NBA Coach of the Year in 2019-20.
Of course, he also helped his team win the Finals as a rookie coach.
Nurse is a very talented pro who works well with superstar talent.
It’s clear the Sixers are looking for a new head coach who can foster a healthy, winning environment and lead to strong postseason success as soon as possible.
They want to keep moving forward at full speed, especially with Joel Embiid playing as well as he has been.
The 76ers do not want to slow down and rebuild.
Hiring Nurse would be a sign that they think they could get to the Finals next year.
He won’t be the only one in the running for this position as there are multiple people jockeying for the role.
The big question is if the front office will discuss its decision-making process with Embiid.
He was quite fond of Doc Rivers and was upset when he was fired.
If the Sixers are smart, they will make sure Embiid is very happy with whoever they hire to replace him.
