Over the past couple of years, the Dallas Cowboys have invested big bucks and assets to revamp their defense, which is the smartest thing they could do.
Their offense has a somewhat low ceiling with Dak Prescott at quarterback, even despite having several talented players in the wideout corps.
They’ve fared much better when the defense is on the field since Dan Quinn took over as defensive coordinator, so it only makes sense to reward their defensive stars.
That’s why they locked up star CB Trevon Diggs to a five-year extension worth $97 million.
With that in mind, former NFL player Greg Jennings congratulated Diggs on “The Carton Show” for performing at such a high level, stating that it was just a matter of time before he got his big payday.

"He was always going to get this money because he's performed at a high level…But still needs to improve because he get's too antsy on trying to make the BIG play." pic.twitter.com/9TMN6Zma1M

Nonetheless, Jennings also urged him to get better and work on his game, as he’s often been caught slipping for always trying to make a big play.
Notably, Diggs has been one of the most polarizing players in the league for the past couple of years or so.
It’s either like he’s going to get an interception, or he’s going to allow a 20+ yard completion, no in-between.
Diggs is the ultimate ball-hawk and has the potential to be one of the best lockdown cornerbacks in the league, but he gambles too much.
Whatever the case, the Cowboys seem willing to live and die by that style of play.
Otherwise, they wouldn’t have given him that kind of money and long-term contract.
