The Chicago Bears are in the process of looking for their next head coach.
One of the many intriguing names in the coaching cycle is Brian Flores, the former head coach of the Miami Dolphins and current defensive coordinator of the Minnesota Vikings.
Former NFL player and current ESPN analyst Jason McCourty, who played for Flores while in New England with the Patriots, likes the idea of Flores coaching the Bears.
“I’m a big proponent of a guy like Brian Flores. I think he is a guy that is a leader of men. I think he is a guy that learned from his first head-coaching experience,” McCourty said Thursday morning on Unsportsmanlike Radio.

Flores is among the coaches in this cycle who have prior head-coaching experience (Mike McCarthy, Pete Carroll, Robert Saleh, Mike Vrabel, etc.).
He spent 15 years as a scout or defensive assistant with the New England Patriots, helping them win four Super Bowls.
In 2019, he was named the head coach of the Miami Dolphins and led the team to a winning season twice in three years before being fired (no playoff appearances).
He joined the Pittsburgh Steelers as a defensive assistant in 2022 and became the defensive coordinator in Minnesota in 2023.
Now, an opportunity has been presented for him to be a potential head coach in the league again.
The Bears could use a head coach with notable experience, and Flores certainly has that in every capacity.
