It’s no secret that the New Orleans Pelicans have had a slew of bad luck over the years.
They have had so much bad luck that some people consider them cursed.
In fact, a former New Orleans player is one of the many people who think the franchise is cursed.
Speaking with Marc Stein, via NBACentral, Daniels revealed his thoughts on his former team:
“That organization’s cursed. Every year there’s something new. I’m happy I’m not there anymore…I had like four or five ankle injuries down there as well. There’s something down in that water down there or something. They got hamstrings. They got knees. They got concussions and stuff as well. They get everything down there. I don’t know what it is. Playing hard I guess?”

Daniels spent his first two seasons with the Pelicans, averaging 4.8 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game.
Things have gotten much better for Daniels since he came to the Atlanta Hawks.
He is averaging 13.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and a league-high 3.0 steals per game in Atlanta.
Daniels has been a beast for the Hawks, especially on the defensive end of the court.
In fact, some people are talking about him as a potential Defensive Player of the Year winner.
The fact that someone who has been so close to the Pelicans feels this way about the team says a lot about how tough things are.
Will they ever be able to shake this “curse” or is this the way it’ll be for the Pelicans for the foreseeable future?
Daniels is happy to be away from the team, and that’s not a surprise based on their bad luck.
