At the present moment, there is a lot of unnecessary drama surrounding the Baltimore Orioles organization.
On July 23, one of the team’s play-by-play announcers, Kevin Brown, commented on the fact that the Orioles were playing good baseball against the Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field, which was a stark contrast to prior years.
In a stunning move, the Orioles chose to suspend Brown for his comments.
Across the sports world, people have voiced their displeasure with the organization for their choice to suspend Brown.
Former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III weighed in on the situation, echoing the sentiments of most around the sports world on Twitter.
Kevin Brown SHOULD NOT have been suspended by the Orioles for this segment. He was doing his job, stating facts and telling the truth. pic.twitter.com/fOL2kQM4TS

The former Heisman Trophy winner and NFL Rookie of the Year stated in his tweet that the Orioles made a poor decision in suspending Brown for his segment.
Like most people in the sports world, the former NFL quarterback came to the defense of the Orioles announcer, stating that he was simply doing his job, stating facts and telling the truth.
Heading into this season, Baltimore had lost 15 of their last 16 series against the Rays at Tropicana Field, with the last series win coming in June of 2017.
From 2020-22, the Orioles played 21 games at the Rays’ home stadium, winning only three of them.
However this year, Baltimore has won three of the five games they have played at Tropicana Field.
Brown simply pointed out a fact, that the Orioles had struggled in previous years against the Rays in Florida but had seemingly reversed the trend.
