The NFL is a quarterback’s league nowadays, and it feels like there has never been more talent at the position than in today’s game.
We have multiple MVP candidates in the AFC alone, and it’s hard to put together a list of the top-10 passers in the league, let alone the five best.
But former NFL player Plaxico Burress was up to the task, and he shared his somewhat controversial list, in which he shockingly snubbed Aaron Rodgers.
.@plaxicoburress reveals his top 5 QBs in the NFL 🤔
1. Patrick Mahomes
2. Joe Burrow
3. Justin Herbert
4. Josh Allen
5. Jalen Hurts(Aaron Rodgers did not make the list 😳) pic.twitter.com/IquN9myXOM

At No. 5, Burress chose Jalen Hurts, a rising star who is coming off his first good season in the league and who’s work ethic and leadership made the Philadelphia Eagles trust him with a massive deal.
Then, at No. 4, Burress chose Josh Allen, a guy he compared to Ben Roethlisberger for his size and arm strength, and also in the sense that it seems like he can always hit the open guy.
Justin Herbert got the nod at No. 3, which is no surprise given everything he’s done since entering the league in terms of numbers, and even though his athleticism is second to none, he still needs to prove himself in the postseason and close games.
Joe Burrow obviously was his choice at No. 2, as he’s the most accurate and efficient passer in the game of football nowadays, and his ability to make reads is just remarkable.
Unsurprisingly, Patrick Mahomes was the undisputed No. 1, with Burress going as far as calling him “the current GOAT,” which is pretty self-explanatory at this point in his career.
