Fewer teams have gained more traction throughout the NFL offseason than the Pittsburgh Steelers.
While they may have an uphill battle for significant success in the AFC, one player has gotten increased buzz.
In a recent conversation with the 33rd Team, Rich Gannon shared his expectations for the Steelers under Kenny Pickett.
“I think the Steelers have a chance to be explosive in the passing game,” Gannon said.

After talking to people around the #Steelers organization and watching their preseason games, @RichGannon12 has high praise for second-year QB Kenny Pickett #HereWeGo

Gannon cited Pickett’s work ethic as a big reason for this growth, saying he has “put in the time and effort and energy into becoming better.”
Pickett was criticized for much of the 2022 season, as many believed he wasn’t the Steelers’ answer at quarterback.
However, he showed some flashes towards the end of the year and has shined throughout camp and the preseason.
With that in mind, Gannon and other analysts are predicting big things for the Steelers.
However, even though Pickett’s buzz is increasing, there are still questions about the Steelers’ ability to break through.
The AFC North is more well-rounded now than it has been in a long time.
The Cincinnati Bengals and Baltimore Ravens are slated to still be good, and the Cleveland Browns are working to get better under Deshaun Watson.
Pickett’s road to success in year two might be tough, but if his play is improved, Gannon won’t be surprised.
The Steelers have continued to add to their offense, hoping to surround Pickett with the best possible talent.
Will the 2023 season yield the results that Gannon and several analysts expect?
