The Carolina Panthers don’t seem to have a clear direction right now.
Their decision to trade Diontae Johnson may have seemed logical at first glance, but the returns they got could be counterproductive.
With that in mind, former NFL GM Michael Lombardi didn’t mince his words about the Panthers (via NFL on ESPN).

Talking on The Pat McAfee Show, he claimed that he had never seen a franchise as bad as Carolina, adding that team owner David Tepper should let someone else run the team.
He put them on blast for trading an early sixth-round pick and Johnson to the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for a late fifth-round pick.
All the decisions the Panthers have made since Tepper took the reins of the team have been met with criticism and skepticism, and he’s not one to take those things lightly.
The Panthers have a strong chance to finish the season with the worst record in the league again, and now that they have seemed to give up on their former No. 1 pick, they will need a lot to go their way for them to turn things around and go back to their contending ways.
