It sounds like the New York Knicks are very serious in their attempt to land Donovan Mitchell from the Utah Jazz.
Over the last month, the Knicks have emerged as a frontrunner to acquire the superstar but everyone knew it wouldn’t come easy or with a cheap price tag.
Now that the regular season is quickly approaching, the Knicks are becoming more eager to make a deal happen – especially since they are apparently getting competition from other teams.
It sounds like the Knicks are willing to give up an awful lot for Mitchell.
Maybe too much?
“If you’re the Knicks, you’re going to give up so much capital to acquire him. Quickley…Toppin…I like both of them, they can ball…So to give up them and 4 first-round picks…I think that’s too steep…because Donovan doesn’t have an ‘S’ on his chest yet”

That’s what former NBA star Jalen Rose thinks.
He was on ESPN talking about a potential monster package from New York for Mitchell and he was lukewarm on them being so spendy.
“If you’re the Knicks, you’re going to give up so much capital to acquire him. Quickley, Toppin, I like both of them, they can ball. So to give up them and 4 first-round picks, I think that’s too steep because Donovan doesn’t have an ‘S’ on his chest yet,” Rose said.
Does Rose have a point?
New York State Of Mind
Some people are accusing the Knicks of coming across as desperate for Mitchell.
They just had a very bad season and are eager to turn things around – they see Mitchell as a key part of that.
That may be true but how much are they willing to lose for Mitchell?
He’s a great player but is he truly worth sending away a few rising stars and multiple draft picks?
Perhaps the Knicks should slow down, re-evaluate, and truly consider if Mitchell can solve all their problems.
