Damian Lillard recently got very honest about his current life in Milwaukee and the struggles that moving to the city has brought.
Lillard admitted that he misses friends and family in Portland, doesn’t have much of a personal life, and is rather “lonely.”
Speaking on Run It Back, former NBA player Chandler Parsons said that being a basketball superstar isn’t always as easy as it seems.
“There’s definitely moments where you’re a human being, and you definitely can be lonely, you definitely can get depressed, and it’s a real issue,” Parsons said.

Parsons spoke about his time playing for the Memphis Grizzlies during the tail-end of his career.
He admits that he was being paid incredibly well and was very lucky and didn’t want any sort of sympathy but was feeling depressed and lonely.
Parsons said that Lillard is in a very strong position to win a lot this year, which is his ultimate goal, but the threat of depression and loneliness will loom.
When Lillard was sent to the Milwaukee Bucks last summer, it was the talk of the NBA world and there was great excitement from everyone involved, including him.
But it’s important to remember that Lillard moved across the country, far from the only team he had ever played for.
During his time with the Portland Trail Blazers, Lillard became a father, got married, and created important relationships.
He had to say goodbye to a lot of that in order to join his new team.
Lillard has always been a refreshingly honest NBA star so it’s not a surprise to see him be so clear about the emotional problems he’s battling.
This is a chance for writers, analysts, and fans to remember that even the most well-paid and successful NBA stars are still regular people at the end of the day.
