Bradley Beal didn’t do the Washington Wizards any favors.
The Wizards gave him a steep amount of money over the years, and he couldn’t get them at least one first-round pick in return for that.
That’s why former NBA player Chandler Parsons put the Wizards on blast for actually going through with this trade, citing that there’s no way that Rudy Gobert got five first-round picks, and they couldn’t get even one for Beal.
“You mean to tell me this is the best you can get for Brad Beal when Rudy Gobert just got 5 first round picks?… It’s a brutal trade for me – I don’t know what the Wizards are doing”@ChandlerParsons on #Wizards trading Beal to #Suns for CP3, Shamet & picks

To be fair, the Gobert trade will most likely go down as one of the biggest fleeces and worst deals in the history of professional sports, but the point is still the same.
Beal’s no-trade clause allowed him to choose where he was going next, so he obviously wasn’t going to agree to a deal that severely hampered his new team.
The Phoenix Suns had no first-round picks to trade anymore, but the Miami Heat and other teams had better offers sitting on their table.
Still, after all the talk about being loyal to D.C. and loving the fans and the organization, one would think Beal would’ve at least tried to throw them a bone with this trade.
The Wizards got basically nothing in return other than taking his huge deal off their books.
Chris Paul isn’t likely to fetch a first-round pick either, and chances are they won’t even be able to trade him.
As for the Suns, they might have a tough time filling that roster with veteran minimum contracts.
