The Philadelphia 76ers have gone to great lengths to put a competitive team around Joel Embiid.
They’ve had one of the most stacked rosters in the league for quite a while now, yet they can’t seem to get past the second round.
Notably, the team hopes that Nick Nurse will be a breath of fresh air and the guy who can help them get over the hump.
Nonetheless, they will also need some accountability from Embiid, according to former Sixth Man Eddie Johnson.
In a recent interview with Sirius XM NBA Radio, the former player said that Embiid needs to accept whatever Nurse demands of him, mostly because the team has given him absolutely everything he could possibly wish for.

Of course, it’s tough to blame Embiid for their shortcomings, granted that he’s played well since he entered the league.
However, he has a long history of underperforming in the playoffs, whether it’s because of injuries, or whatever the case.
Embiid is the league’s reigning MVP, and as such, there’s a certain standard that he needs to meet.
The organization has given him multiple star sidekicks and different coaches, and it’s time he holds his end of the bargain now.
Needless to say, James Harden’s situation could also have a huge impact on this team’s success — or lack thereof — next season.
But at the end of the day, this is Joel Embiid’s team, and there should be no more room for excuses going forward at this point.
