The month of June is officially underway.
Two months of the 2023 MLB season have come and gone, and now it’s time for us to see who the true postseason and World Series contenders are, as well as the teams who are likely out of the race.
But it’s been an exciting first two months.
Certain teams, such as the Tampa Bay Rays and Atlanta Braves, have played great baseball, while other teams, such as the St. Louis Cardinals and San Diego Padres, have been major disappointments.
On Twitter, former MLB star Mark DeRosa made a list of his top-5 World Series favorites as we move into the month of June.

At the top of DeRosa’s list are the Braves.
DeRosa reached the Major Leagues with the Braves 1998 and was with the team until 2005.
The Braves have received key contributions from right-handers Spencer Strider and Bryce Elder.
The Rays are second on the list.
They busted out of the gates by winning their first 13 games and still have the best record in all of baseball.
The defending World Series champion Houston Astros are still a formidable force.
Houston comes in at No. 3 on the list.
Finally, the Texas Rangers and the Padres round out the list, respectively.
Texas was busy this past winter, adding Jacob deGrom, Nathan Eovaldi, and Andrew Heaney to their rotation, which has performed quite well.
The Padres are 25-30, but still have plenty of talent on their roster and could turn things around at any given point.
