The Miami Dolphins parted ways with veteran wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. recently, which means that the 32-year-old will have the chance to join a new team if he clears waivers.
While he was a great player back in the day, he has not been incredibly productive.
Former NFL GM Mike Tannenbaum spoke recently about what the current GMs of the league need to be wary of when signing a player like Beckham.
“You’ve just got to be careful when you sign him for what he is in 2024, not what he was two or three years ago,” Tannenbaum said Friday on Get Up.

Tannenbaum is absolutely right.
Beckham hasn’t been consistently good since he was in Cleveland in 2019.
That was the last year in which he recorded 1,000+ yards receiving.
After recording 1,000+ receiving yards in five of his first six NFL seasons, Beckham dealt with injuries and seemed to never regain his younger self.
Aside from helping the Los Angeles Rams win the Super Bowl, the former LSU Tiger hasn’t accomplished a whole lot over the last four or five seasons.
He has not caught more than 44 passes in a given regular season since 2019.
It will be interesting to see if a team is willing to take a chance on the former Pro Bowl pass-catcher.
Perhaps a team like the Washington Commanders or the Pittsburgh Steelers might want to sign the former first-round pick ahead of the stretch run.
