The New York Giants have a delicate situation on their hands with Saquon Barkley.
They reportedly offered him nearly $14 million before taking that offer off the table and placing him under the franchise tag, infuriating the Penn State product.
Barkley decided to skip OTAs and is seriously considering holding out until he gets a new contract.
Notably, former Giants star Plaxico Burress believes he’s doing the right thing and has every single right to be upset, as the franchise tag isn’t a good deal for any player.

Burress cited that Daniel Jones is a good, not great, quarterback, yet he’s making $40 million because of today’s market.
He also said that all teams should do right by their best players, adding that they’re not doing that with Saquon.
Barkley was one of the best running backs in the game a couple of years ago.
He made an immediate impact out of college, and his ability to break tackles and put up numbers was historically impressive.
Nonetheless, he hasn’t been exactly healthy lately, and even though he was back on the field last season, there are some legit injury concerns with him.
The Giants insulted him with that offer and then doubled down by taking it back.
But Barkley should also take a look in the mirror and realize why the team has been reluctant to give him that much money, as they also stood by him through all those major and constant ailments.
