It’s the dawn of a new era for the Arizona Cardinals.
Jonathan Gannon left the Philadelphia Eagles after a successful stint as defensive coordinator to serve as their new head coach.
And while some Cardinals fans could be happy with the fact that their ever-struggling defense should be much improved, Gannon wasn’t always a fan favorite in Philly.
That’s why the former Eagles DC seemingly took a big shot at the City of Brotherly Love and its “tough media market,” calling out the press for reportedly wanting him fired despite being 9-0 last season.
#Cardinals HC Jonathan Gannon talking about his comfortability with the media, but mentions how difficult it could be in Philadelphia.
Mentions how they were 9-0 and people wanted him fired.

Gannon was a bit of a polarizing figure during his days with the Eagles.
Most of the metrics favored his case, and Philly did have one of the best defenses in the league when he was there.
However, the eye test rarely favored his scheme, and fans often wanted him to blitz more with that kind of personnel he had.
Also, Eagles star C.J. Gardner-Johnson took a big shot at Gannon in a now-deleted tweet, stating he didn’t put the team in a position to win with his lack of adjustments in Super Bowl LVII.
Whatever the case, Gannon earned his stripes in the league and was rightfully hired by the Cardinals, as the numbers pretty much speak for themselves.
But if he wasn’t going to be met with open arms in Philly before today, you better believe the fans — and even some of his former players — will most definitely have a lot to say when he heads back there.
