The reality is that the Philadelphia 76ers have been stuck with Tobias Harris for way too long.
Don’t get me wrong, he’s not a bad player by any means, but he’s making way more money than the average player with his numbers and play, making him virtually impossible to move and retool the roster.
That’s why Sixers fans have often been ruthless to him, urging the team to get rid of him now that he’s finally in the last year of his contract.
With that in mind, Harris took a big shot at those ‘casual’ fans that would trade him for a cookie, wishing them good luck finding another 6’9” forward who can score from all three levels and play 70+ games per year.
Needless to say, that utter confidence in his game didn’t sit well with plenty of people online, and fans took to Twitter to call him out and mock him.
For how much you getting paid you can get way better options for cheaper. Getting paid superstar money to be a higher end role player

Truth be told, the narrative around Harris would be completely different if it wasn’t for that huge contract of his.
He would be viewed as a great contributor and would even be a part of multiple trade rumors, with teams constantly looking to acquire him.
But there’s no way around it; he’s got a terrible contract.
That’s also why it’s been so crazy to see that the Sixers seem to be playing hardball to trade him instead of just letting him go to the first suitor willing to absorb his expiring deal.
