Scottie Pippen kicked a hornet’s nest when he criticized his former Chicago Bulls teammate, Michael Jordan.
After praising LeBron James, Pippen said Jordan was a “horrible player” before he and others joined the Bulls in the late 1980s.
This follows other comments Pippen has made in the recent past about Jordan and his legendary career.
It certainly caused quite a reaction online.
“LeBron James will be the greatest statistical [player] to ever play the game of basketball. [Michael Jordan] was a horrible player.”

Numerous NBA fans on Twitter were shocked to see this from Pippen.
“Did this guy really just call Michael Jordan a horrible player,” one fan asked, floored by such a comment.
Did this guy really just call Michael Jordan a horrible player😂😂😂

That fan wasn’t the only one.
Multiple people were wondering why Pippen seems to have so many negative things to say about his former peer.
Others claimed that Pippen needed Jordan just as much as Jordan needed him and he wouldn’t have had the career he did without his Bulls teammate.
Dude has WAAAYYYY too many negative things to say about the dude responsible for helping make his entire career. Sad.

There were plenty of people who pointed out that Jordan put up impressive numbers in the years before Pippen in Chicago.
Sure, he became a better player with Pippen beside him but he was still great before him, they argued.
MJ scored 28.2 PPG on 51.5% shooting his rookie season. Even if he was shooting “horrible” shots, he was making them

Then there were many Bulls fans online who just wished things could be like they were so many years ago when Jordan and Pippen seemed happy to rule the league together.

Will this be the last time that Pippen pushes back against Jordan’s career?
It seems unlikely: we will probably hear him say something like this again in the future.
When he does, there will again be a strong reaction about his opinion and his own legacy and place in NBA history.
