Fans of the Los Angeles Clippers were hoping they’d get Kawhi Leonard for the duration of the playoffs this year.
Instead, he only appeared in two games before an injury sidelined him.
After Leonard’s absence in Thursday night’s loss to the Phoenix Suns, people are calling on him to leave the team.
Colin Cowherd said it plainly, stating, “It’s time to move off Kawhi Leonard.”

There were some people online who felt that Cowherd’s judgment was incorrect and premature.
However, there were many more who came out to support his plea with the Clippers front office.
Even the most devoted Clippers fans have grown tired of losing Leonard again and again to various injuries, especially in the crucial playoffs.
We knew it long long ago.

But some are holding onto hope that he can get better and bounce back because he is still unquestionably very talented.
“He’s better than KD in the postseason when healthy,” one fan said.

There were others who said that the Clippers shouldn’t stop with shedding Leonard.
They cite the numerous health problems that Paul George has experienced too and think the team should “move off both of them.”
Agree with the take except it doesn’t go far enough. Where is PG now? That’s right, hurt. As he often is. He’s almost as unreliable as Kawhi. Time to move off both of them.

In fact, George got his fair share of criticism on Twitter Friday morning as people questioned why he’s missing so many games as well.
Can PG put his body on the line the way Kawhi does? They have a chance to win it all. It’s not Kawhis fault his knees are almost like Brandon Roy’s…. But he still goes out there

The Clippers can still overcome in this series and Leonard might return for Game 4.
But if that doesn’t happen, there is a lot of speculation that the Leonard era in LA may be coming to an end.
He’s truly one of the most remarkable athletes in the league but his injuries are only harming his team and perhaps time has run out.
