Fans React To Today’s Zion Williamson Report

Now that the NBA season is officially over, all eyes are on teams throughout the league and questions about what they will do next.

In a little more than a week, the draft will occur and will shape the future of multiple franchises.

One of them may be the New Orleans Pelicans, who continually come up short despite a strong core.

Shams Charania sat down with FanDuel TV and spoke about the team’s plans for the upcoming draft.

Charania said that the Pelicans want draft prospect Scoot Henderson, and they might be willing to trade Zion Williamson to get him.

“I’m told [The Pelicans] are going after Scoot Henderson…Do the Pelicans look hard internally of moving Zion Williamson?” Charania asked, via NBACentral.

The mere idea of Williamson being traded away by the Pels caused quite a stir online.

Some people think it’s a smart idea from New Orleans’ front office…yet they can’t think of many teams that would jump at the chance to sign Williamson.

I would. But as a team taking him in.. the guy has never been in shape besides one season at duke. Even in high school he wasn’t in shape

Others remarked on the “delicate situation” surrounding Williamson.

His trade value is fluctuating wildly as his health continues to suffer season after season.

So, if not now, when will the Pelicans trade him?

This is a delicate situation. You can't trade him right now, but how long do you wait before have to? Diminishing returns will swing the scales aganist the Pelicans if he doesn't get it together in the next two seasons.

Meanwhile, other people envisioned a team that featured both Williamson and Henderson.

That would truly be a strong pairing, although it would take a ton of trades and assets to make it a reality.

If Zion can stay healthy and they find a way to get Scoot, Pelicans can make some real noise in The East.

If the Pelicans are seriously considering making moves to secure Henderson, they need to work quickly.

The draft is next Thursday so the front office will have to get to work at putting together a deal that can move them up and prepare them to get Henderson.
