The Kansas City Chiefs are one team that everyone expects to be good.
That is because they are a well-run organization that excels at drafting and signing free agents.
Kansas City seems to be very good at making under-the-radar moves.
One of those moves could be signing former Tampa Bay Buccaneers left tackle Donovan Smith.
Tampa decided to move on from Smith after an injury-riddled 2022 season.
Now the Chiefs are hoping that he can be their left tackle.
According to James Palmer, Andy Reid has confirmed that Smith will begin OTAs at left tackle.
Andy Reid confirmed todays that Donovan Smith would begin OTAs as the #chiefs starting LT with Jawaan Taylor siding over and going to RT.

Smith struggled last season in Tampa due to injury issues.
He missed four games and looked like a shell of himself when he was on the field.
Many fans think trusting Smith to protect Mahomes’ blind side is a bad move.
welp, so much for a repeat 😜 https://t.co/NL2uWysEJw

One reason the Chiefs have been so good in recent years is due to their offensive line.
Keeping Mahomes upright has been something they excelled at.
But Jawaan Taylor was signed by the Chiefs and many thought he would play left tackle.
Instead, the Chiefs plan to use him as a very expensive right tackle.
That’s a lot of money for a RT https://t.co/PUUrMmt02g

It will be interesting to see how Smith holds up in training camp.
The Chiefs will not be afraid to pull the plug and move Taylor back to left tackle if things do not go well.
Some fans are optimistic that this new offensive line will work out.
Taylor's a better RT anyway. That Chiefs OL is still good:
LT Donovan Smith
LG Thuney
C Humphrey
RG Trey Smith
RT TaylorI do wonder if Niang or Morris could see time this year though. https://t.co/dVhmFFGyQc

For the sake of the Chiefs’ offense, they better have their offensive line figured out sooner rather than later.
