The NFL is all about winning, but marketing also plays a big part in a team’s planning.
That’s why even when teams aren’t exactly thriving on the gridiron, they can make it up with some new stuff for marketing purposes.
That seems to be the case with the Detroit Lions ahead of the upcoming campaign, as they just released a new video hyping up their new alternate helmets.
Needless to say, Lions fans took to Twitter to show their reactions and feelings about this new helmet, and it was as welcomed as everyone expected it to be.

The new alternate helmet features some interesting details.
According to the team’s official Twitter page, the shell color symbolizes the future, as it’s a color that had never been used before in the National Football League.
They also claimed that it was designed to celebrate the franchise’s 90th season, adding that they would only wear them with their alternate all-gray uniforms.
The helmet features a classic logo to honor the franchise’s heritage throughout the course of the years, and it has a matte facemask in the team’s signature gray color to round things up.
It’s a beautiful design, that’s for sure, and it will look quite solid with their alternate uniforms.
Even so, there are more than enough reasons to be hyped up about next season if you’re a Lions fan.
The team almost made the playoffs last season, and they won’t have Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay anymore, and the expectation is that they’ll be in the mix to win their division for the first time since 1993.
