The New Orleans Saints have officially joined the list of teams firing their coaches midseason.
The team failed to hang on to beat the league-worst Carolina Panthers, taking their record to 2-7.
They’ve now lost seven consecutive games after winning their first two contests of the season, leading decision-makers to part ways with Dennis Allen, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Needless to say, it didn’t take long before the fans took to X to react to this piece of news.
In the Dennis Allen era, @Saints were 16-26-1 (38%) ATS.
Saints are 0-5 ATS in their last five games.

Allen failed to lead the team to the playoffs in two-and-a-half seasons in charge of the team.
He took over Sean Payton, and the team could never get things going regardless of who was in charge.
This is the second time Allen has been fired from his head coaching duties.
He was 8-28 with the then-Oakland Raiders from 2012-14 before becoming the Saints’ defensive coordinator.
The Saints have also struggled in the post-Drew Brees era.
Jameis Winston got hurt early in his tenure with the team, and Andy Dalton clearly wasn’t who they needed.
They later pursued Derek Carr, who looked poised to flourish away from a dysfunctional organization but was mostly disappointing since joining the team.
It’s never easy to move on from one Hall of Fame coach to another, and the same applies to quarterbacks.
But even if there were reasons to be patient with Allen, it became painfully evident that the team needed to go in a different direction after yet another tough and avoidable loss.
