Scott Perry has overseen a lot of change for the New York Knicks during his six years as the team’s general manager.
But his time in New York’s front office has come to an end, according to writer Ian Begley.
Perry and the Knicks will part ways after his contract expires this summer, according to Begley.

Following the news of Perry’s departure, many fans of the Knicks were both shocked and a bit hopeful too.
Most of them wanted to wish Perry well for the hard work he did for the team and the way he helped transform it into playoff contenders.
Paved the way for the NYK through the years up until this point. Best to him

Others said that this was a sign that the Knicks were focusing on more than just the playoffs.
They argue that the front office is now determined to do what it takes to reach the Finals.
Letting Perry go was the first step to making that happen, they claim.
You got to appreciate everything Perry hands done for the Knicks but, this tells me the Knicks are looking to moves that catapults them into be contenders. Perry made some good draft selections and help laid down the foundation.

Many, many people feel it’s no coincidence that this news leaked right after Golden State Warriors GM Bob Myers announced that he was leaving that team.
Perhaps it’s just wishful thinking but a lot of Knicks faithful are imagining a world where Myers becomes New York’s new GM.
Bob Myers will be there next week

Whether it is Myers or someone else, the Knicks are definitely on the hunt for a new general manager.
The team is in a weird spot right now.
They have a few terrific pieces on their roster, led by Jalen Brunson, but they are still short of the greatness needed to conquer the Finals.
Their new GM will definitely have their work cut out for them and could oversee one of the most successful eras in Knicks history.
