The Baltimore Ravens have a solid 9-5 record, but even after they went on a five-game winning streak, it was thought they needed another legitimate threat in their passing game.
That was why they traded a fifth-round draft pick to the Carolina Panthers for wide receiver Diontae Johnson.
Johnson never made any impact on the Ravens, and after he refused to enter their Week 13 game against the Philadelphia Eagles, he was suspended for one game.
Now, he has been waived by the Ravens, according to ESPN insider Adam Schefter.

Prior to this season, Johnson played five years with the Pittsburgh Steelers after he was a third-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, and in 2021, he made the Pro Bowl after posting 107 catches, 1,161 receiving yards and eight touchdowns.
But in 2022 and 2023, he couldn’t duplicate that kind of production, and the Steelers traded him to the Panthers this offseason along with a seventh-round draft pick for a sixth-round draft pick and cornerback Donte Jackson.
With Baltimore, Johnson had a grand total of one catch for six yards in four games.
Ironically, the Ravens play Johnson’s former team, the Steelers, in Week 16 before visiting the Houston Texans and hosting the Cleveland Browns to close out the regular season.
The Steelers are in first place in the AFC North with a 10-4 record, which has them one game ahead of the Ravens entering the divisional showdown.
