The Los Angeles Lakers started off the season 2-10; now they’re talking about championships and parades.
In a recent edition of Patrick Beverley’s podcast, Russell Westbrook claimed that he expected to have a championship ring if the Lakers won the NBA Finals this season, with Pat Bev feeling the same way.
Of course, that drew plenty of mixed takes and reactions on social media, mostly of mockery and criticism.
However, according to Chris Haynes, the Lakers have reportedly made a decision to give championship rings to all players that were a part of their roster this season, which obviously includes Westbrook and Beverley.
"They [Lakers] would extend a championship ring to ALL players who were on the roster at any point during this season." 💍

Is there a team in the league with a bigger ego than the Lakers? "We've decided we will be winning the championship this year. Rings for everyone!"

Truth be told, Beverley and Westbrook were never fan favorites in Los Angeles.
Fans often pointed their fingers at them, and they clapped back at them multiple times when they left the team.
Also, the Lakers were bottom feeders and constantly struggled when they were on the team, up to the point where someone allegedly called Westbrook “a vampire.”
One would think that there’s no way the Lakers would give them a championship ring after going to great lengths to get them out of their locker room, but props to them for staying professional and still showing some respect for those who wore the Purple and Gold jersey this season.
But more than that, they still need to win nine more games before even thinking about that.
