Super Bowl week is upon us, and there are just a few more days until the most important NFL game of the year.
There are a lot of festivities leading up to the big game, including the NFL Honors ceremony, which recognizes some of the best players and coaches from the season.
Several awards are handed out during this ceremony, but the most anticipated award of the night was MVP, as it was a true toss-up heading into the evening.
Many believed that Lamar Jackson was going to win his second-straight MVP, while others were convinced that Josh Allen would take it home.
In the end, Allen took home the hardware, as Adam Schefter announced on X.

Bills fans were certainly excited to see Allen win the award, but other fans were not so excited, as both sides made their opinions heard on social media.

He played like Superman this year with a lesser supporting cast than most superstar QBs
They were expected to have a down year on offense and they went on an incredible run due to an insane josh Allen season

To the people upset with this:
Context matters. He was the most valuable player to his team this season.
If it was the best numbers award, it would’ve been Allen’s last year, and Lamar’s this year.
By definition they got both years right.

Allen has been a catalyst to the Bills’ success throughout his tenure with the team, and to many, this is a big reason why he won the award this year.
He might not have had as many passing yards as Jackson or as many total touchdowns, but this award didn’t seem to be about statistics, at least this season.
Voters viewed Allen as the more important player on his team, and at the end of the day, he won this award in a hard-fought race.
Allen and Jackson are still two of the best quarterbacks in the league, and there’s already excitement building to see what they can do in 2025.
