The 2022-23 NBA season will go down in infamy for Milwaukee Bucks fans.
They were thinking about parades and banners, yet they couldn’t even win two games in the first round.
However, as disappointing as this outcome may have been for everybody, Giannis Antetokounmpo doesn’t see this season as a failure.
“There’s no failure in sports. There’s good days, bad days, some days you are able to be successful, some days you are not, some days it is your turn, some days it’s not. That’s what sports is about. You don’t always win.”

Needless to say, those comments got some mixed reviews online, with some praising Giannis for seeing life that way and others bashing him for not being competitive enough.
Love him as a player, love him even more as a man.

Well said, although different take than MJ, Kobe, or Shaq would have
I like that about Giannis. But I also love the competitiveness of the all-time greats…

Giannis is absolutely right here, you either win or you loose

You're not the Kings or Cavs though. You should be setting up base camp in the second round. iF mIdDLeToN wAs hEaLtHY

I think it is a failure, but not in a shameful kind of way when we often think of failure. Failure like how Giannis explains it – they didn’t live up to expectations but these are lessons to do better. “If you don’t succeed, try again” as the adage goes&failure is opp. of success

Maybe, the truth is somewhere in-between.
Giannis is the kind of person who sees the glass as half-full, and he’s been through enough in his life to realize that there are worse things than losing a couple of basketball games.
He’s also led his team to a championship already, so it’s not like he doesn’t know how to win.
Then again, these comments might make some people feel like he’s settling and isn’t hungry anymore, although that’s the last thing you’ll think of him when you watch him play.
Not having him on the floor was a major factor in this series, but the Bucks did lead by double digits in two of the four games they lost.
Coach Mike Budenholzer couldn’t keep up with Erik Spoelstra’s adjustments, and Jimmy Butler absolutely dominated Jrue Holiday and he didn’t even try to send someone else out there to guard him.
The Bucks had the best record in the league and just lost to a play-in team.
So, as much as Giannis likes to be optimistic about this, it’s hard not to think of that as a failure.
