Lionel Messi introduced his talents to MLS fans on Friday night, and LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers was there to root him on.
Messi and James, who have been friends for a few years now, met before the game started.
They shared some friendly words, had a laugh or two, and were caught giving one another a hug.
That moment was captured in a photograph that was shared all over the web, including from LakShowYo on Twitter.
“LeBron x Messi” they posted with two goat emojis to symbolize them as both the greatest of all time in their respective sports.

The appearance of both James and Messi together definitely had fans talking.
Seeing either of these athletes on their own is something special but witnessing them together is something else entirely.
“Unmatched aura,” Lakers Fanatic said on Twitter.

Seeing that much talent – and that much fame and fortune – together in one place was a lot for fans to take in and they were in awe.
I don't know much about Soccer, but this is the GOAT of the NBA and the GOAT of Soccer hugging it out. Not to mention, well over a billion and a half dollars between them.

Of course, some fans had to make jokes about James getting friendly with Messi.
Whenever James is spotted alongside other NBA stars, trade rumors immediately begin.
So, what are the chances that Messi signs a deal with the Lakers?
People joked about that possible scenario.

James wasn’t at the game to scout new players or pursue a new business venture.
Instead, he was there to support his friend, who just happens to be the most popular and accomplished soccer player on the planet.
