The Golden State Warriors need every minor advantage they can get if they intend to win back-to-back NBA championships this season.
They haven’t been a good road team this year, going 9-29 as opposed to 30-8 at home.
Their road defense has been atrocious, and they’re unlikely to get home-court advantage at any point in the postseason.
That’s why Warriors star Draymond Green believes it would be better for them if they faced off with the Sacramento Kings in the first round of the playoffs.
Green cites that, even though the Kings have played quite well this season, it would make it much easier for them in terms of traveling and getting some rest.
Draymond pointed out that Memphis should be an Eastern Conference team because they’re a long flight from California, citing how much they had to travel en route to the NBA Finals last season.

Needless to say, fans had plenty of interesting reactions to Green’s take, as they usually do.

He says Memphis shouldn't be in the West, but there's no one in the east that's to the west of memphis. No one to swap with that makes any sense.

The funny thing is I really didn't like @Money23Green before his podcast, but dude offers crazy insight and knowledge. Much respect now. 🙏🏽

But truth be told, this makes perfect sense for the Warriors, especially considering how much they’ve struggled away from the Bay this season.
Still, the Warriors will need to break a tie with the Minnesota Timberwolves if they want to face Sacramento, as they’re currently sitting at the seventh seed and would square off with the Memphis Grizzlies in the first round, granted they get out of the play-in tournament.
Also, they’ve gone 2-1 versus the Kings this season, but they failed to beat them at Golden 1 Center, so it won’t be an easy matchup.
