The defending NBA champion Golden State Warriors are not the team they were last season.
A fight in practice that leaked, a flurry of injuries and a mysterious absence of Andrew Wiggins has led to the defending champions fighting to stay above .500.
Despite all that has gone on for the Warriors this year, Golden State will be as dangerous as any team in what appears to be a wide-open Western Conference come playoff time.
Warriors star Draymond Green recently let it be known who the team would want to face in the first round of the playoffs, with the Sacramento Kings in the team’s crosshairs moving forward.

At this point in his career, Green tends to do a lot of talking off the court as he prepares for a job in the media in his post-playing days.
That being said, a lot of what Green says these days can be controversial takes to go viral on things like The Volume Sports, which hosts his podcast.
However, Green is stating simple facts for wanting to face the Kings rather than another team that will require a lot more travel.
Sacramento is the closest playoff-caliber team to the Bay Area, and travel will be a breeze for a team like the Warriors that needs the advantage considering the number of miles on players like Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Green.
Currently, the Warriors and Kings meeting in the first round of the playoffs is a likely scenario, with Sacramento now being a No. 3 seed and Golden State at No. 6.
This Bay Area battle may very well come to fruition.
