Devin Booker of the Phoenix Suns is one of the most talked-about basketball stars in the NBA.
And he might end up having one of the most talked-about shoe lines too.
Booker posted an image of his upcoming “Book 1” signature shoe on social media, courtesy of Legion Hoops.
The response from fans online was decidedly mixed.

Some fans said that while the shoes look great, they were “for fashion” and not for playing basketball.
According to some, they resemble skater sneakers more than those you’d see on a basketball player.
These are for fashion. Ain't no way these are for ball.

Others agreed.
They don’t look bad tbh

“Looks kinda like a bowling shoe,” another user said.

But other people came out in support of Booker’s new shoe.
Brett Usher called them “simple but dope.”
He agreed that they look like skate shoes but said they remain faithful to Booker’s style.
I love these. Simple but dope. They kinda look like skate shoes, are definitely true to Booker’s style. Excited to see some other colorways.

Booker is one of the most popular guards in the NBA currently and he has a big year ahead of him.
The Suns are positioning themselves to be one of the best and most successful teams in the Western Conference.
They have undergone some major changes over the last few seasons but Booker has remained a consistent part of the lineup and will be into the future.
If his team is really able to succeed in 2023-24, he will garner even more attention.
That means that these shoes, set to be released in the spring of 2024, could also benefit from the Suns’ season.
There are many shoe lines from NBA stars on the market today but Booker is hoping he can easily compete with all of them.
