After losing to the Carolina Panthers in Week 10, the New York Giants fell to 2-8 on the season before heading into their bye week, and apparently, head coach Brian Daboll and his coaching staff used the extra time to make a decision about the quarterback position.
All season long, Giants fans and the media in New York have been calling for the team to make a change at quarterback, with veteran Daniel Jones showing no signs of improving or even being able to play decent enough football to lead this team to wins on a regular basis.
It appears the loss against the Panthers was enough to convince the team’s brass that a change had to be made, with Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team reporting that Jones has not only lost his starting job but is now third on the depth chart at quarterback with Tommy DeVito set to be the new starter and Drew Lock backing him up, which is a surprising development, to say the least.
The #Giants are demoting Daniel Jones to QB3. Tommy DeVito is the starter. Drew Lock is the backup.
And this essentially confirms that Daniel Jones was benched because of financial reasons. pic.twitter.com/IrOwdyoTSi

Giants calling it a season. Spending as little money as possible now.

Being demoted from starter to QB3 is code for "I hate everything about you."

It’s safe to say that the Giants brass will make some drastic changes once the NFL offseason rolls around, especially if the season continues to head in this direction.
The Giants will head into Week 12 with an ugly record of 2-8, hoping to see some signs of life after suffering five straight losses.
New York will host Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday at MetLife Stadium in an attempt to stop the bleeding with DeVito under center.
