The Dallas Cowboys have found their quarterback for the future, and it’s Dak Prescott.
Perhaps Trey Lance’s performances in the preseason made Jerry Jones realize that he had no choice but to stick with his veteran.
According to a report by Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Cowboys signed Prescott to a four-year contract extension worth a whopping $240 million.

He’s now going to make a staggering $60 million per season, thus becoming the highest-paid quarterback in the history of the league.
Needless to say, this piece of news was met with mixed reviews on social media, and it didn’t take long before the fans flooded X with their takes on it.

Truth be told, paying Prescott $60 million a year does feel like a massive overpay.
On the other hand, this is just the state of the quarterback market, and whoever got paid next was going to set a new mark; that’s just the way it is.
Prescott has been mostly good in the regular season and not so much against winning teams, in prime-time games, or in the playoffs.
Now, he’ll be expected to take his game up a notch and live up to this massive deal.
The Cowboys may not be as good as they were last season, and they didn’t do anything to address the issues that ended their season in the playoffs.
At least, however, they crossed this problem off their list, and they can now focus on getting Micah Parsons signed to a contract extension of his own.
