The Houston Texans made some bold moves during the 2023 NFL Draft, with the team selecting Ohio State star quarterback C.J. Stroud with the No. 2 overall pick and then acquiring the next pick in order to take defensive end Will Anderson Jr.
These aggressive moves showed that the Texans brass were tired of going nowhere as currently constructed and wanted to bring in two game-changers on both sides of the football.
Even though these two prospects were among the best in the draft, there was no guarantee they’d pan out for Houston and that it might take some time before the team knew what they had in Stroud and Anderson.
Despite a slow start for the Texans this season with consecutive losses to the Baltimore Ravens and Indianapolis Colts, Stroud and company have gotten things going as of late, with the rookie quarterback making a lot of noise recently.
Stroud is proving week in and week out that he’s the best quarterback in this draft class and potentially already a star in the NFL, as he’s been incredible in Houston with some historic numbers last week in the win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and a remarkable come-from-behind performance against the Cincinnati Bengals this week via Bleacher Report.

Here are some fan reactions about Stroud leading the Texans to an impressive win over Burrow and the Bengals:
They gonna have to stop giving him any comeback time cause he’s gonna come back!

Could CJ Stroud become the first rookie since Jim Brown (1957) to win both MVP and Rookie of Year in the same season? Hmmm…

Stroud has become the favorite for Offensive Rookie of the Year and now is getting some buzz as a potential NFL MVP candidate, which is wild to say with so much talent at the quarterback position in the NFL.
If Stroud can keep this up, the Texans will be a force to be reckoned with for years to come while he makes his case for being an elite quarterback in this league.
