Coming into the 2024 NFL season, the Denver Broncos had officially moved on from one-time Super Bowl champion quarterback Russell Wilson and put all their faith in rookie Bo Nix out of the University of Oregon.
With Nix being compared to New Orleans Saints legend Drew Brees, it was no surprise that head coach Sean Payton wanted to bring him in with their first-round draft pick, which is what the team ended up doing.
However, even though Nix showed some flashes of brilliance during the NFL preseason, which led to him winning the starting job right out of the gate in Week 1, the Broncos’ first two games of the season were rough.
Denver lost consecutive games to the Seattle Seahawks on the road in Week 1 and then fell to Wilson’s Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 2, with Nix doing nothing to prove he would be the future face of the franchise.
Fortunately for the Broncos, Week 3 on the road against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was a different story altogether, with Nix putting it together and having his best game yet while leading Denver to its first win of the 2024 campaign via FOX Sports: NFL.

Although Nix still has yet to throw a touchdown pass in the first three games of his professional career in the NFL, the rookie quarterback did rush for a touchdown while keeping the offense clicking.
Along with Nix doing enough on offense to maintain their lead in the game, the Broncos’ defense was impressive, to say the least, resulting in holding Baker Mayfield and company to only seven points and getting that elusive first win.
