The Los Angeles Lakers are only going to get as far as Anthony Davis can take them this season.
Darvin Ham just confirmed that LeBron James will be under a minute restriction for the entire year, so their other star needs to step up.
That definitely wasn’t the case in their season opener.
After dominating with 17 first-half points, the former No. 1 pick was held scoreless in the second half, all while taking just six shots.
Needless to say, the fans were infuriated with the former New Orleans Pelicans star, and took to Twitter to voice their frustration and mockery.
Taurean Prince and a 40 year old LeBron got more points than AD. Austin Reaves got more rebounds than AD. On a season where he’s supposed to show it’s his team. Meanwhile Jokic casually dropped a 30 pts triple double on AD..
Year 21 and Bron still can’t get AD to step up🤦♂️

AD will never be a number 1 option again in his career

The ‘Alternate Days’ nickname has become a running joke on social media now.
Davis cannot seem to string together good efforts, up to the point where ESPN pundit Stephen A. Smith calls him ‘Six Flags’ because he’s a roller coaster.
There’s no one on Earth who can deny Davis’ talents and skills.
And while he cannot be blamed for being injury-prone, the fans do have every right to hold him accountable for his inconsistent efforts.
The Lakers just gave him a huge contract extension because they trust — and need — him to be a Batman, not a Robin.
It’s going to be an uphill battle to win games with LeBron not playing over 30 minutes and Davis being held scoreless in a half.
And while the Lakers do have some nice depth, sometimes it all comes down to the most talented players and whether the stars show up or not, and that should worry the fans.
