While not the most popular guy as a player, Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr has always been surrounded by greatness.
He was one of the first true three-point shooting specialists on Earth, which granted him some big roles off the bench for his teams.
While not particularly fast or athletic, Kerr was actually quite shifty, smart, and had a knack for knocking down huge shots.
That’s why multiple fans took to Twitter to wish the now-legendary coach a happy birthday on Ball is Life’s post.

Kerr won five NBA championships as a player, three with the Chicago Bulls and two with the San Antonio Spurs.
Also, four of those rings were consecutive, and he knocked down some big shots to get that done, even if he wasn’t the most prominent player on the court by any means.
He later became a successful broadcaster and executive before becoming one of the greatest coaches of all time, leading the Golden State Warriors to four NBA championships in six trips to the NBA Finals.
Kerr helped turn an ever-struggling franchise around, and while he had plenty of help from his elite players, he also deserves plenty of credit for getting them over the hump and putting together a system that was a better fit for their skills.
Throughout the course of his career, he got to play with Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, David Robinson, and Tim Duncan, to name just a few.
Then, he coached Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, Kevin Durant, and now even Chris Paul.
What a privilege.
