DeMar DeRozan has accomplished a lot during his 14 years in the NBA, including securing six All-Star selections.
That is all clearly worth celebrating.
But DeRozan is celebrating for a different reason on Monday because it is his 34th birthday.
The official NBA Twitter account gave DeRozan a birthday shout-out and fans did the same.

Some fans of DeRozan and the Bulls used his birthday as an opportunity to refer to him as the GOAT.
Over the last few years, DeRozan has earned a bunch of fans in Chicago, even with the rocky road they’ve been on.

Others called him out for being a “pro’s pro,” cool and calm under pressure while consistent.

Others highlight his ability to score from mid-range on the court, calling him “mid range dmar.”
That is indeed one of the many tools he has in his bag and it’s also one of the reasons why he earned the nickname “Mr. Fourth Quarter.”

However, some people said that the birthday is a reminder of DeRozan aging and getting closer to leaving the league.
Although he still has plenty of time to win a championship, turning 34 means he probably doesn’t have too many more years playing in the NBA.
Wow he old

In 2022-23, DeRozan averaged 24.5 points and 5.1 assists on a 50.4% field goal percentage.
That wasn’t enough for the Bulls, who weren’t able to make the playoffs.
There has been talk about big changes coming to Chicago, with some people even suggesting that perhaps DeRozan himself should be traded away.
If that were to happen, he’d prove a valuable chip in any deal because he is still a highly competitive and well-respected athlete.
And now he’s just a little bit older.
