The Minnesota Vikings struck gold with one of their moves of the offseason.
Signing Sam Darnold has saved their season.
Whether they intended him to be a backup or a stopgap while their rookie quarterback got ready, the fact of the matter is that he’s been a blessing to this organization.
Even so, they still reportedly believe J.J. McCarthy is their guy for the future.
That means that, as much as they would love to keep Darnold around, chances are he’s played his way into a big contract somewhere else.
With that in mind, B/R Gridiron shared a graphic naming several potential destinations for Darnold next season and fans believe they know which team he will join.

Several fans agreed he would be a perfect fit for the Los Angeles Rams.
If Mattthew Stafford retires in the offseason, I see Sam going to the LA Rams.

That does make perfect sense.
There have been rumblings about Matthew Stafford’s desire to retire for years.
He’s been pretty banged up and has already won a Super Bowl.
Darnold has thrived under Kevin O’Connell’s system, similar to the Rams’, O’Connell’s previous team.
On top of that, they are the most well-rounded team among his potential options.
They’re well-coached, have two elite wide receivers and one elite running back, and play in a big market.
Darnold, wherever he lands, will make a lot of money in his next contract.
And if he can get back to Southern California and play for a contender, it seems like it would be an easy choice for him.
