The Atlanta Falcons are expected to have a dynamic offense this season with Michael Penix Jr. as their starting quarterback.
Now, they are trying to upgrade their defense with a recent addition.
“Free agent CB C.J. Henderson, the former Jacksonville first-rounder, is planning to sign with the Falcons, source said, pending his medical review. After Pittsburgh last year and Carolina before that, Henderson gets another shot in 2025. He picked ATL over several suitors,” NFL Network insider wrote on X.

The Jacksonville Jaguars traded Henderson one season after taking him with the No. 9 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
He didn’t do much better with the Carolina Panthers, and he found his way to the Pittsburgh Steelers last season.
Unfortunately for him, he failed to get into a game and he eventually landed on injured reserve.
Henderson worked out for the Steelers recently, but he ultimately chose to try his luck with the Falcons.
Of course, making the 53-man roster won’t be easy.
The Falcons have AJ Terrell as a starting cornerback, and Mike Hughes, who joined the team this offseason, is projected to be the other starter.
Clark Phillips and Dee Alford will be in the mix, and Henderson will have his work cut out to prove that he can be a contributor and, more importantly, that he can stay healthy.
The Falcons are looking to make a run in the NFC South, and the defense will need to be on point to match up with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ collection of pass catchers.
