The race for NFL MVP has seemingly been between Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson all season.
An argument has been made for Saquon Barkley, who’s having a banner year for the Philadelphia Eagles, but considering how many quarterbacks have won this award in recent seasons, it isn’t likely to go to him.
Jackson and Allen are two of the best quarterbacks in the league, each having the ability to throw the ball well while being a constant threat on the ground.
Many have suggested that Allen should win the award this season, which would hand him the first MVP of his career.
Others are on Jackson’s side, including Ed Reed, who stated his case on SportsCenter.
Reed might have some bias considering his experience with the Baltimore Ravens, but he gave Jackson his flowers in this debate, saying, “I mean, his stats are better.”

Jackson has outperformed Allen in many statistical categories, so Reed could have a point.
The MVP doesn’t always go to the player with the best overall stats, as there have been some surprises throughout the years.
It will be interesting to see what criteria this year’s voters use, and which of these two dual-threat quarterbacks will get the nod.
This would be Jackson’s third MVP award, and he could become a back-to-back winner should the voters lean his way.
Fans will have a chance to watch these quarterbacks go at it this weekend in a highly anticipated playoff matchup.
