The 2023-24 NBA regular season hasn’t been great for the Golden State Warriors, with the storied franchise not playing as well as planned after the team made the blockbuster trade to acquire veteran point guard Chris Paul in the offseason.
Although the team has started to turn things around as of late with eight wins in their last 10 games, the Warriors still aren’t the same team they once were that used to strike fear into their opponents on a nightly basis.
One star player in San Francisco who has really fallen off over the last couple of years is sharpshooter Klay Thompson, as he is no longer a threat defensively and can’t light up the scoreboard like he used to.
With Thompson seemingly on the downside of his NBA career, Golden State seems more and more likely to part ways with the future Hall of Famer in the offseason by simply letting him walk in free agency.
That said, the suitors are lining up with some interesting potential landing spots for Thompson, like the Orlando Magic, according to NBA insider Marc Stein via Legion Hoops.
REPORT: The Magic have been “increasingly mentioned as a potential suitor” for Klay Thompson, per @TheSteinLine.

After a quick start to the 2023-24 campaign, the Magic have fallen back down to earth a bit this season but are still sporting a winning record while exceeding expectations.
Regardless of how the season pans out for Orlando this season, the team is on the rise in the Eastern Conference, and it would bode well to go after a player like Thompson during the summer to take another step forward.
