The Philadelphia Eagles lost to the New York Giants in Week 10 by a score of 27-17.
With this loss, the Eagles drop to 3-5-1 but remain in first place in the woeful NFC East.
But it hurt because it was the first time in 1,470 days the Giants beat the Eagles, a streak that dates back to November 6, 2016.
Naturally, after this loss, the blame game was bound to begin for the Eagles.
And the first candidate in the blame game is QB Carson Wentz.

This is the first time in Wentz’s career that rumors of sloppy practice habits are leaking out.
When asked about Wentz’s practice habits on Monday, Eagles Coach Doug Pederson refuted those statements.
“Practice is where we perfect our craft. I don’t understand where that’s coming from, and we’re going to continue to coach and make sure we hold everyone accountable.”
Of course, Wentz has weaknesses; he holds the ball too long and doesn’t give up on a play.
These habits sometimes lead to disastrous consequences like a turnover or a sack for a loss.
But let’s put it in perspective, injuries have decimated the Eagles in 2020.
Wentz has the added pressure of carrying this team on his shoulders.
His TD to interception ratio tells the unfortunate story; he has thrown 12 of each.
Doug Pederson
The next in line in the blame game is Coach Pederson.
Doug Pederson may have too many voices in his head and is amenable to all of these offensive assistants and their suggestions and the game plan lacks cohesion because of this, according to @MikeSilver on @nflnetwork ⬇️

His coaching staff has evolved since the Super Bowl Championship season.
Most notably, Pederson lost his offensive coordinator Frank Reich who left to coach the Indianapolis Colts.
So the question becomes is Pederson and the current staff the right mix to lead Wentz and the Eagles?
Wentz doesn’t make some of the calls that fans shake their heads over; those belong to Pederson and the coaching staff.
While it turned out to be inconsequential, no one quite understood the Eagles going for a two point conversion late in the 3rd quarter when an extra point would have made the deficit only a field goal at 21-18.
The two point conversion attempt failed so the Eagles fell behind by two scores at 21-17.
Pederson shared his overall frustration during his regular Monday morning appearance on the 94 WIP Sportsradio Angelo Cataldi and The Morning Team show.
It’s safe to say Pederson has never been this angry on air.
“I’m pissed off, Angelo. I’m pissed off at myself. I’m pissed off at the way we played. It frustrates me to no end. We have too much pride, I have too much pride. These players have too much pride. We work our ass off during the week. It is frustrating. It is frustrating. Blame it on me all you want. I’ll handle it with the players, you can blame it on me. I’m a big guy. It’s fine. We’re self inflicted ourselves. We are killing ourselves. We are shooting ourselves in the foot. All of those cliche little statements are still showing up and it’s frustrating.”
The Eagles Are Still In Contention
Despite everything that’s happened, the Eagles are still in contention and a likely candidate to win the NFC East.
Their schedule is tough with games against the Browns, Seahawks, and Packers as well as divisional matchups against Dallas and Washington.
The good news for the Eagles is that WR Alshon Jeffrey and RB Miles Sanders returned in Week 10.
Jeffrey had not played the entire season after dealing with foot and calf injuries, and Sanders missed a couple of games with a knee injury.
The best way for the Eagles to stop the whispers is to get these offensive weapons back in the game plan and start consistently winning games.
